Busy, busy

Okay, sorry that I haven't posted for a while. Last week was extremly busy! My sil Felicia arranged that we paint the inside of my in-laws house for their Christmas present. It's hard to know what to get them, so we all jumped at the chance. We put in money and time and painted their living room, kitchen, and dining room. Gus and I went out Monday and Tuesday and helped take down wallpaper and wash walls. Then everyone came on Wednesday night, Thursday, and Friday to paint. Sometimes it was chaos, especially with up to 20 kids there at one time! Anyway, it turned out so good! It was a lot of work, but it was all worth it. I am so lucky to say that I have awesome in-laws and love spending time with them! View some pictures here.

Hi! I'm Melissa from the gusandmel blog! My husband and I are a little weirded out! LOL! I also taught for 6 years before I stayed at home! And you made the same shirts?? Weird! It's funny though-when we were at the pumpkin patch yesterday, several people said they saw them on Family Fun magazine and thought about making them!

So I have to ask-is Gus your husband's real name or is it short for something? My husband's name is August. He's actually the III, so his g-pa was August and his dad is Auggie, and he got to go by Gus!

Thanks for commenting-that was pretty neat to see the similarities!

(Oh, Rachel's tights came from ebay, but they were new in the package. I think I just searched for Children's Place tights. I also got a black and white striped pair!) Aren't you loving the girl thing??

I hate taking down wallpaper. One of the worst jobs. Good idea on a gift. Now you can enjoy the rest of your holiday prep.
